Lamar Community College Foundation Scholarships
The LCC Foundation is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1973, which receives gifts, bequests, and donations on behalf of the College. It actively seeks donations from individuals and groups. The Foundation provides Presidential Scholarships and administers the LCCF Community Scholarships. In addition, the Foundation seeks to improve learning environments through campus beautification and capital improvement campaigns.
Presidential Scholarships
Presidential Scholarships are available to graduating seniors from Colorado. Seventy-five (75%) percent of the scholarships are reserved from graduating seniors from Southeast Colorado school districts that are members of the Southeast Colorado BOCES or located in LCC’s service area. The scholarship funds full in-state tuition and fees (15 credits per semester). Contact the President’s Office for more information.
Community Scholarships
The LCC Foundation also solicits contributions for a variety of privately-funded scholarships. These scholarships have different eligibility requirements and award amounts; they are open to new and continuing students. Contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information.
Senior Citizen Scholarships
Scholarships for up to one-half of tuition (or full tuition for PED courses) are available to all in-state citizens over the age of 60. Scholarship information is available in the Student Services Center.
The T.E.A.C.H Scholarship is available for Early Childhood professionals working in licensed settings and pursuing higher education. This scholarship covers up to 90% of tuition, along with a supplies allowance, paid study time, and bonus incentives for completing classes successfully.
The College Opportunity Fund (COF) is used by the state of Colorado to pay a portion of the total cost of undergraduate degrees if you are a Colorado resident attending a Colorado public institution. For the 2022-2023 school year, the COF stipend is $104 per credit hour. COF is not considered financial aid. Students eligible for in-state tuition can receive the stipend every term that they take eligible undergraduate courses, and have not met the 145 credit hour lifetime limit.
Colorado Merit Aid
The state of Colorado allocates funding for students who have achieved high academic success. You must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours and be a Colorado resident. Please check with the Financial Aid Office on current requirements.
Colorado Student Grant (CSG)
The Colorado Student Grant program is designed to assist students with financial need with their educational expenses. You must be a resident of the State of Colorado and must demonstrate documented financial need. The maximum award for the 2022-2023 academic year is $3,500 for full-time students. You must be making satisfactory academic progress. Funds are awarded to early applicants who meet the financial aid deadline of May 1st. All other applicants are awarded until the funding is exhausted.

Work Study, Working While Still Enrolled
Students who are enrolled in at least 6 credit hours are eligible for work-study. The monetary amount offered is determined by your financial aid and various budget items.
Federal and State funds are utilized to provide part-time employment opportunities for qualified students. Students may work up to 20 hours per week and earn between $1,000 and $2,000 for an academic year. Awards are based on the evaluation of the student’s financial need and the needs of campus departments. No-need work-study funds also are available to Colorado residents. Students do not have to document financial need to receive these funds. Interested students should contact the Office of Financial Aid.
