Baker excels in providing quality programs grounded in a tradition of academic excellence in response to the educational needs of the future. Baker is the top-ranked private university in Kansas and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a variety of disciplines for future educators at all levels.
Award-Winning Undergraduate Programs
Baker undergraduate programs, which are taught on our residential campus in Baldwin City, Kansas, include elementary education, health, physical education, middle-level English, middle-level mathematics and secondary education. Baker’s reputation for producing top teachers puts our graduates in high demand, which is why 100 percent of 2013-14 and 2014-15 graduates had jobs within three months of graduation. Once they leave Baker, graduates continue to succeed; Baker grads have been nominated for the Kansas Teacher of the Year award in nine of the last 10 years.
Flexible, Distinguished Graduate Programs
Baker’s graduate programs, targeted toward teachers and building leaders, offer these degrees: Master of Arts in Education, Master of Science in Special Education, Master of Science in School Leadership, Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (PK-12), Ed.D. in Leadership in Higher Education, and Ed.D. in Instructional Design and Performance Technology.
Students in Baker’s graduate programs have the option to meet one night a week in Wichita, Topeka, Overland Park or to take courses fully online. Baker students learn from highly accomplished educators and leaders in local school districts and in the field.
A Degree of Excellence
For the past four years, students have maintained a 100 percent pass rate on the Kansas Performance Teaching Portfolio. On top of that, more assistant principals in Kansas schools have earned their master’s degree from Baker than from any other university. Baker is among the top four Kansas universities chosen by principals employed in public schools in Kansas.
This all proves one thing: Baker builds achievers.
