UNT Denton - James Carl and Rena Mae Matthews Scholarship

Requirements:

1. Meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the College of Education in effect at the time of any award; applicant must have received credit for at least 60 semester hours of college courses.
2. Must maintain full-time enrollment at the University, unless they have fewer than twice the number of semester hours required to be full-time remaining in their degree program; during the student teaching semester, six hours will be considered a full load.
3. Enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in Interdisciplinary Studies, seeking elementary teacher certification, at the University; in the even no applicant possesses this characteristic, then students enrolling full-time in any Teacher Education program at the University will be eligible for consideration.
4. Preference will be given to one student who will be enrolled during both long semesters of the academic year in which the scholarship is to be awarded; if one such qualified student cannot be identified, then the scholarship may be divided between two or more qualified students who will each be enrolled in one long semester of the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded.
